Mozart’s wrote some of his most iconic music for the female voice.

The women in his life had a profound effect on him as a composer. In September 2025, ENO held a concert to illustrate these women’s role as more than passive muses. These women were artists in their own right. They inspired Mozart and created with and for him the unforgettable women who populate his operas.

The concert was led by an outstanding cast of internationally renowned opera stars joining us on stage, alongside the award-winning Orchestra of ENO, led by conductor Clelia Cafiero on the podium, and TV and radio presenter Lauren Laverne as our wonderful host.

This concert was produced by ENO in partnership with Factory Films for broadcast on Sky Arts. It is in conjunction with the Sky Original limited series Amadeus, starring BAFTA-winning actor Will Sharpe (A Real Pain, The White Lotus season 2), BAFTA and Emmy-nominated British actor Paul Bettany and Gabrielle Creevy.

The concert is broadcast on Sky Arts in December 2025 on Sky Arts, Freeview and streaming service, NOW, so even more people can experience the magic of Mozart nationally with ENO.
