Our Opera Unwrapped panel sees us joined by members of the cast, company, artistic and creative team.

John Savournin directs The Zoo and Trial by Jury, presenting Sullivan’s rarely performed opera with librettist Bolton Rowe in conjunction with an early collaboration with William Gilbert. Conducted by Peter Whelan, this production relocates the Victorian courtroom drama of Trial by Jury to a 1980s game show set in a revival of Savournin’s Scottish Opera production, preceded by a new production of The Zoo. ENO stalwart Neal Davies plays the Learned Judge, joined by former Harewood Artists Mary Bevan and Madeleine Shaw, and Robert Murray.

This event is an opportunity to hear from cast and creatives of this new double-bill, from the rehearsal process to their own creative backgrounds, opening with a live performance from one of the principal artists.
